Raw Citrine Copper Ring: Electroformed Boho Crystal Jewelry - BlackbirdSageStudio

♏ November Birthstone Jewelry – Citrine & Topaz

November has two birthstones: citrine and topaz. Both are warm, golden, and associated with the qualities of late autumn — the amber light of November afternoons, the richness of a season winding down into something quieter and more interior. November spans two signs, Scorpio and Sagittarius, and the birthstones serve both: citrine for the optimism and abundance that Sagittarius reaches toward, topaz for the depth and transformation that Scorpio moves through. This collection brings both stones together in electroformed copper settings handcrafted in Santa Fe.

November birthstones. Citrine and topaz. For Scorpio and Sagittarius.

Citrine

Quartz colored yellow to amber by iron impurities, or by the natural irradiation of amethyst over geological time. The name comes from the French for lemon. Found in Brazil, Spain, Madagascar, and the United States. One of the most abundant and accessible of the yellow gemstones, and one of the most genuinely warm in color — ranging from pale lemon yellow through deep amber and cognac. Associated with abundance, optimism, and the confidence to pursue what you want. The modern birthstone for November alongside topaz. Can fade in prolonged direct sunlight — store away from strong light.

Topaz

An aluminum silicate fluoride hydroxide mineral, forming in orthorhombic crystals. Pure topaz is colorless — the golden and imperial topaz associated with November gets its color from chromium impurities. Found in Brazil, Pakistan, Russia, Sri Lanka, and the United States. Golden topaz ranges from pale champagne through deep amber and orange-gold. Imperial topaz, the rarest variety, is a rich orange with pink undertones. Associated with strength, confidence, and the full expression of personal power. One of the harder gemstones at 8 on the Mohs scale, making it well suited for rings and daily wear.

Citrine vs. Topaz

Both stones are warm and golden but they are distinct minerals with different properties. Citrine is quartz — relatively common, widely available in raw form, and softer at 7 on the Mohs scale. Topaz is rarer, harder, and forms in larger crystals with a different kind of clarity. Raw topaz has a glassy, almost water-clear quality even in its golden form. If you are drawn to the warmth of November stones but want something less common than citrine, raw golden topaz is worth seeking out. Both are available in this collection.

For Scorpio and Sagittarius

Scorpio runs from October 23 to November 21. Sagittarius runs from November 22 to December 21. Both signs share November's birthstones. Scorpio is a fixed water sign ruled by Pluto and Mars — intense, transformative, and drawn to depth. Sagittarius is a mutable fire sign ruled by Jupiter — expansive, optimistic, and drawn to meaning. The warm golden stones of November serve both: grounding Sagittarius's fire in something tangible, and bringing light into Scorpio's depth.

Materials and Care
