Rose Quartz
Pink quartz, colored by trace amounts of titanium, iron, or manganese. The most widely used stone for love and emotional healing across cultures and centuries. Found in Brazil, Madagascar, South Africa, and India. Associated with self-love, gentle healing, and the opening of the heart. One of the most universally accessible stones — soft in color, soft in energy, and genuinely beautiful in raw form. The starting point for anyone working with heart-centered stones.
Rhodonite
A manganese silicate mineral in pink to deep rose with distinctive black manganese oxide veining. Found primarily in Russia, Australia, and Sweden. Associated with emotional balance, self-worth, and the healing of old wounds. Where rose quartz is gentle and opening, rhodonite is more specific — it works on the places that have been hurt, the patterns that formed around old pain. The black veining against the pink makes each piece visually unique.
Pink Calcite
Calcium carbonate in pale to medium pink, often with a soft translucency. A relatively soft mineral (3 on the Mohs scale) that should be handled gently and kept away from acids and prolonged water exposure. Associated with emotional release, gentleness, and the softening of self-criticism. One of the most physically delicate stones in this collection and one of the most energetically gentle.
Mangano Calcite
A manganese-rich variety of calcite occurring in pale pink to white, often with a soft banded or cloudy appearance. Associated with compassion, forgiveness, and the release of grief and anxiety. Slightly different in quality from pink calcite — where pink calcite tends toward emotional release, mangano calcite tends toward comfort and reassurance. Also soft and sensitive to acids and water.
Kunzite
A pink to violet variety of spodumene, colored by manganese. Named after gemologist George Frederick Kunz, who first described it in 1902. Found primarily in Afghanistan, Brazil, and the United States. Associated with unconditional love, emotional healing, and the opening of the heart to both giving and receiving. One of the more unusual stones in this collection — less common than rose quartz and worth seeking out for its particular clarity and color. Can fade in prolonged direct sunlight — store away from strong light.
Materials and Care
All pieces are set in electroformed copper or wire-wrapped brass, handcrafted in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Pink calcite and mangano calcite are soft and should be kept away from acids, harsh chemicals, and prolonged water exposure. Kunzite should be stored away from direct sunlight. Remove all pieces before water and chemicals. Copper develops a natural patina over time.
