Why Raw Blue Kyanite

Kyanite is a naturally occurring aluminum silicate mineral, its soft blue color the result of iron and titanium content. Found primarily in Brazil, Switzerland, and the United States. Its distinctive blade-like crystal form — called a bladed habit — is one of the most recognizable in the mineral world. Long associated with the throat chakra (Vishuddha) and with calm, clear communication. One of the few minerals that does not accumulate or retain energy in the way most stones do — a genuine mineralogical curiosity. No mystical claims. Just a beautiful stone with a meaning that fits real life.

How This Handmade Kyanite Ring Is Made

Each raw blue kyanite ring is made to order in my small Santa Fe studio. I hand-select every crystal for its color and natural blade form, then encase it in copper using traditional electroforming techniques. Copper grows directly around the stone through an electrical process, following every striated surface of the raw kyanite exactly. No mass production, no shortcuts. Every handmade ring from this studio is one of a kind.

Care

Remove before swimming, showering, or applying lotions. Store dry. Kyanite is moderately durable but can be brittle along its cleavage planes — avoid hard impacts. Let the antique patina deepen naturally with wear, or polish gently with a soft cloth to brighten.
