A piece that carries the weight of ancient things. Each carnelian arrowhead is a genuine knapped stone, its raw chipped edges wrapped in electroformed antique copper that follows every ridge and contour of the flint. No two are alike. The swirling amber, orange, and white banding inside each stone is entirely natural, formed over millions of years, and the copper grows directly around it in a process that takes days. Wear it when you need to feel grounded, directed, and sure of where you are going.

Carnelian is associated with courage, vitality, and forward momentum. A sacral chakra stone. Wear it when you need to feel rooted and ready.

Why Carnelian Agate

Carnelian is a variety of chalcedony, a microcrystalline quartz, colored by iron oxide inclusions ranging from pale orange to deep red-brown. The banded variety, sometimes called carnelian agate, shows natural white and orange layering formed as silica-rich fluids deposited in ancient rock cavities. Long associated with courage, action, and the sacral chakra (Svadhisthana). It is the birthstone of July and a traditional stone of warriors and leaders. No mystical claims. Just a beautiful ancient material with a meaning that fits real life.

How This Handmade Carnelian Necklace Is Made

Each pendant is made to order in my small Santa Fe studio. I hand-select every arrowhead for its color and character, then wrap it in copper using traditional electroforming techniques. Copper grows directly around the raw stone edge through an electrical process, forming the organic border you see. No mass production, no shortcuts. Every piece from this studio is one of a kind.

A Note on Stone Variation

Because these are natural knapped stones, each arrowhead varies in shape, size, color, and banding pattern. The stone you receive will be similar in character to those shown, chosen for its beauty and quality.

Care

Remove before swimming, showering, or applying lotions. Avoid prolonged sunlight. Store dry. Polish copper with a soft cloth if desired. Condition leather cord occasionally with a small amount of leather conditioner to maintain suppleness.

Gift Packaging

Every order arrives gift-ready with natural materials and a handwritten note card. Add your message in the order notes.

Materials & Metals

Each necklace is handcrafted from raw copper, and may include elements of brass, bronze, silver, or stainless steel, paired with carefully chosen stones, crystals, or natural elements.
Every piece is shaped by hand through the slow process of electroforming — a melding of earth, metal, and time that creates unique textures and forms.
All metals are nickel-free and sealed for comfortable, daily wear. Slight variations in color, texture, or patina are natural signs of the handmade process — each one-of-a-kind, just like its wearer.

Chain Options

Necklaces are available in a variety of lengths to fit every ritual and style:

  • 16–18 inches – sits high at the collarbone
  • 20–22 inches – a classic mid-chest length
  • 24–30 inches – longer talisman style for layering

Chain styles may include cablerolo, or oxidized link, chosen to complement each pendant’s design.

Leather Option

Select designs feature a soft, durable leather cord, fully adjustable from 12 to 24 inches.
Leather cords offer a grounded, natural feel and can be worn short as a choker or long for layering — making them versatile for both men’s and women’s styles.

Care & Maintenance

All metals and leather will naturally age with time and wear — it’s part of their alchemy.
To maintain brightness, polish gently with a soft cloth. To preserve patina or aged finish, simply wipe clean and store in a dry place. Avoid prolonged contact with water, lotion, or perfume.

Remove before showering or swimming. Use a soft cloth; avoid abrasive polishing on patinated copper.

Copper Protection

Embrace the Patina

Some collectors love the rich, aged look that copper develops over time. This natural patina tells a story—of adventures taken, energies absorbed, and the passage of time. If you resonate with that earthy, vintage look, feel free to let your copper evolve organically.

Why add lacquer?

  • Slows the natural darkening (patina) of copper
  • Minimizes the chance of skin reactions
  • Keeps copper looking brighter for longer
  • Protects while preserving the earthy character of your jewelry

Details:

  • Optional upgrade available for $5
  • Applied directly to your copper ring, necklace, earrings, cuff, or bracelet before shipping
  • Clear finish — no change to the look or feel of your piece
