This black tourmaline necklace is built for daily wear and doesn't ask for much attention. A raw tourmaline crystal, approximately 1 to 1.25 inches, is encased in electroformed copper with an antique finish, substantial and grounded, the kind of piece that settles against the chest and stays there. Black tourmaline has been used as a protective stone across cultures for centuries, placed at thresholds, carried on the body, worn as a shield. How This Handmade Necklace Is Made
Each black tourmaline necklace is made to order in my small Santa Fe studio. Copper grows directly around the raw crystal through an electroforming process, preserving its natural shape and raw character. No molds, no mass production. Every piece is one of a kind.
Care
Remove before swimming, showering, or applying lotions. Store dry. The copper patina will deepen naturally over time. Black tourmaline is durable but avoid impacts against hard surfaces to protect the rod ends.

Every piece is shaped by hand through the slow process of electroforming — a melding of earth, metal, and time that creates unique textures and forms.
All metals are nickel-free and sealed for comfortable, daily wear. Slight variations in color, texture, or patina are natural signs of the handmade process — each one-of-a-kind, just like its wearer.
Chain Options
Necklaces are available in a variety of lengths to fit every ritual and style:
- 16–18 inches – sits high at the collarbone
- 20–22 inches – a classic mid-chest length
- 24–30 inches – longer talisman style for layering
Chain styles may include cable, rolo, or oxidized link, chosen to complement each pendant’s design.
Leather Option
Select designs feature a soft, durable leather cord, fully adjustable from 12 to 24 inches.

Care & Maintenance
All metals and leather will naturally age with time and wear — it’s part of their alchemy.
To maintain brightness, polish gently with a soft cloth. To preserve patina or aged finish, simply wipe clean and store in a dry place. Avoid prolonged contact with water, lotion, or perfume.
Remove before showering or swimming. Use a soft cloth; avoid abrasive polishing on patinated copper.
