Agate Bar & Obsidian Arrowhead Necklace | Electroformed Copper | Brass Chain | Made to Order
Couldn't load pickup availability
A translucent agate slice, edged in electroformed copper and suspended horizontally from an antique brass chain — then a faceted crystal bead, then a raw black obsidian arrowhead dropping below. Two stones, one piece, worn at the heart where intention lives. Made by hand in Santa Fe, New Mexico, each necklace is shaped by the natural form of the stones themselves.
Agate is associated with calm, balance, and quiet strength. Obsidian with protection, grounding, and clarity. Together they anchor and steady — wear this when you need both.
Why Agate & Obsidian
Agate is a banded form of chalcedony, formed in volcanic rock cavities over millions of years. Its translucency comes from fine-grained silica layers — each slice reveals a unique internal landscape of banding and color. Black obsidian is volcanic glass, formed when lava cools rapidly, prized for its depth and natural conchoidal fracture. Both stones are earth-born and ancient. Both are associated with grounding and clarity. No mystical claims. Just two beautiful stones with meanings that fit real life.
Agate Bar & Obsidian Arrowhead Necklace: Materials & Specifications
- Stone 1: Horizontal agate slice bar, translucent grey-white with natural banding, electroformed copper edges — chain attaches at both ends so the agate sits as a centerpiece bar

- Accent: Small faceted clear crystal bead connecting agate bar to arrowhead drop
- Chain: Antique brass cable chain
- Closure: Lobster clasp
- Origin: Handcrafted in Santa Fe, New Mexico
How This Handmade Agate & Obsidian Necklace Is Made
Each agate slice is hand-selected for its natural translucency and banding, then electroformed in copper — a slow process where copper is grown molecule by molecule directly onto the stone edge. The obsidian arrowhead is similarly capped in electroformed copper. The two stones are connected by hand with a faceted crystal bead accent and assembled onto an antique brass chain. No two pieces are identical.
A Note on Stone Variation
Both agate and obsidian are natural stones. Each agate slice will vary in its banding pattern, translucency, and exact shape. Each obsidian arrowhead will vary in size and the degree of blue-black iridescence visible in different light. This variation is the nature of the stone and what makes each piece one of a kind.
Care
Remove before swimming, bathing, or applying lotions and perfumes. Agate is relatively durable but avoid hard impacts. Obsidian is volcanic glass — avoid impacts that could chip the natural edges. Brass and copper will develop a natural patina over time; polish gently with a soft cloth if desired. Store in a dry place.

Product Details
Materials & Metals
Each necklace is handcrafted from raw copper, and may include elements of brass, bronze, silver, or stainless steel, paired with carefully chosen stones, crystals, or natural elements.
Every piece is shaped by hand through the slow process of electroforming — a melding of earth, metal, and time that creates unique textures and forms.
All metals are nickel-free and sealed for comfortable, daily wear. Slight variations in color, texture, or patina are natural signs of the handmade process — each one-of-a-kind, just like its wearer.
Chain Options
Necklaces are available in a variety of lengths to fit every ritual and style:
- 16–18 inches – sits high at the collarbone
- 20–22 inches – a classic mid-chest length
- 24–30 inches – longer talisman style for layering
Chain styles may include cable, rolo, or oxidized link, chosen to complement each pendant’s design.
Leather Option
Select designs feature a soft, durable leather cord, fully adjustable from 12 to 24 inches.
Leather cords offer a grounded, natural feel and can be worn short as a choker or long for layering — making them versatile for both men’s and women’s styles.
Care & Maintenance
All metals and leather will naturally age with time and wear — it’s part of their alchemy.
To maintain brightness, polish gently with a soft cloth. To preserve patina or aged finish, simply wipe clean and store in a dry place. Avoid prolonged contact with water, lotion, or perfume.
Remove before showering or swimming. Use a soft cloth; avoid abrasive polishing on patinated copper.
Copper Protection
Embrace the Patina
Some collectors love the rich, aged look that copper develops over time. This natural patina tells a story—of adventures taken, energies absorbed, and the passage of time. If you resonate with that earthy, vintage look, feel free to let your copper evolve organically.
Why add lacquer?
- Slows the natural darkening (patina) of copper
- Minimizes the chance of skin reactions
- Keeps copper looking brighter for longer
- Protects while preserving the earthy character of your jewelry
