This Brazilian agate slice bangle brings a broad window of banded stone to a fully enclosed, hand-hammered copper band. At approximately 1.5 inches long by 1 inch wide, the slice makes a statement without needing anything beside it. Choose it to mark a fresh beginning, a return to yourself, or an intention you want to keep within sight. For the person who prefers her jewelry a little wild, deeply personal, and impossible to repeat.

Agate is associated with balance, grounding, and emotional steadiness, and is traditionally connected with the root chakra. Wear it as a reminder of your intention to feel settled in your own skin.

Why Brazilian Agate

Agate is a banded variety of chalcedony, a microcrystalline quartz formed as silica-rich water deposits successive layers inside rock cavities. Brazil is a well-known source of these distinctive stones. Cutting agate into slices reveals the layered patterns within, with each stone carrying its own arrangement of bands and translucence. No mystical claims. Just a beautiful stone with a meaning that fits real life.

Brazilian Agate Slice Bangle: Materials & Specifications

  • Stone: Brazilian agate slice, approximately 1.5 inches long by 1 inch wide. Individual dimensions and patterns vary.
  • Metal: hand-hammered copper band with an electroformed copper setting, antique copper finish.
  • Construction: fully enclosed continuous bangle that slips over the hand. No opening, clasp, or adjustability.
  • Origin: Handcrafted in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

How to Size Your Bangle

A bangle is a closed circle, so it has to pass over your hand rather than wrap around your wrist. Measure your hand, not your wrist. Tuck your thumb into your palm as if you were slipping the bangle on, wrap a soft tape measure or a strip of paper around the widest part of your hand, and compare that measurement to the inner circumference below. If you fall between two sizes, choose the larger one. Slim wrists often need a larger bangle than expected, and that is completely normal.

  • Small: 2.25 in / 57 mm inner diameter, about 7 in / 179 mm inner circumference
  • Medium: 2.5 in / 63 mm inner diameter, about 7.75 in / 198 mm inner circumference
  • Large: 2.75 in / 70 mm inner diameter, about 8.5 in / 220 mm inner circumference
  • Extra large: 3 in / 76 mm inner diameter, about 9.4 in / 239 mm inner circumference
  • Custom size: choose this option and add your hand measurement in the order notes at checkout

This bangle is meant to sit loose and move a little as you do. It does not open, adjust, or clasp.

How This Brazilian Agate Bangle Is Made

Each slice is selected for its individual pattern before the copper band is formed into a continuous circle and hammered by hand. Copper is slowly built around the stone through electroforming, creating an organic setting with a texture distinct from the hammered band. Nothing is cast or mass produced, and each finished bangle carries the marks of its own making.

A Note on Stone and Color Variation

Each Brazilian agate slice is unique. Colors may vary slightly from the images, and every stone has its own banding, outline, and translucence. The approximately 1.5 by 1 inch dimensions are a guide, not an exact template. Your bracelet will carry the same design and character, with an individual stone rather than an identical match.

Care

Avoid hard impacts, which can chip or fracture the stone. Remove before washing, swimming, or applying lotions and perfumes. Copper develops a natural patina over time. Polish the metal gently with a soft cloth and store your bangle dry.

Gift Packaging

Your bracelet arrives gift-ready in natural materials with a handwritten note card. Add a gift message in the order notes.

Made-to-Order Processing

Please allow approximately 1 to 2 weeks for your bangle to be made.

About Electroforming

Electroforming is an ancient technique reimagined for modern jewelry.
Copper molecules bond to each stone over several hours, creating organic textures and secure settings. Learn more about our process.

Each bracelet is electroformed in pure copper, a process that uses electricity to slowly grow metal over organic forms, stone, or wax-carved bases.
This ancient-meets-modern technique creates natural textures and one-of-a-kind variations — no two pieces will ever be the same.
All bracelets are nickel-free, can be sealed for daily wear, and finished by hand in our Santa Fe studio.

For centuries, copper has been worn as a grounding element — believed to balance energy, support circulation, and keep the wearer anchored in presence. It reminds us of our connection to the earth and our ability to return to stillness.

Sizing Guide & Fit

Our electroformed copper cuffs are not adjustable and should not be bent or forced to fit, as this can damage the piece. Choosing the right size from the start ensures a comfortable and lasting fit.

To find your size:

  • Measure your wrist with a flexible tape or string.
  • Add +0.5" for a closer, snug fit.
  • Add +0.75" for a looser, more relaxed fit.

Size guide:

  • Extra Small – fits ~5.75" wrist
  • Small – fits ~6.5" wrist
  • Medium – fits ~7.25" wrist
  • Large – fits ~8" wrist

✨ When in doubt, size up for comfort. Exchanges are accepted. Each cuff is handmade and one-of-a-kind, crafted to be treasured for years.

How To Correctly Put On Your Bracelet

Gently form the bracelet to your wrist using slow, even pressure. Avoid bending it back and forth repeatedly, as electroformed copper is malleable and can weaken over time. A close but comfortable fit helps the metal rest naturally against the skin.

Electroformed copper cuffs are not meant to bend — they should never be pulled open or squeezed closed. Doing so can cause the
copper to crack, especially at the middle or ends of the cuff.

How to Properly Put On Your Cuff Bracelet

  1. Find the soft spot on your wrist — the narrow part just above the wrist bone.
  2. Slide the open side of the cuff sideways onto your wrist — not from the top, but from the side.
  3. Gently rotate or roll the bracelet into place until it rests comfortably.
  4. Avoid bending or stretching the cuff to make it tighter or looser.

Care & Patina

Copper will naturally develop a patina over time, a mark of age, energy, and individuality. To restore brightness, polish gently with a soft cloth or a simple lemon-and-salt paste. To preserve its aged character, simply wipe clean and let the color deepen with wear.

With a little mindful care, your jewelry will stay beautiful for years to come:

  • Remove before showering, swimming, or sleeping.
  • Store in a dry pouch or jewelry box to slow natural patina.
  • Wipe metals gently with a soft jewelry cloth after each wear.
  • Avoid contact with perfumes, lotions, and hair products.
  • Crystals are natural and can be delicate—handle with care to avoid chips or cracks.
  • Copper and brass will naturally darken over time. If you prefer a brighter finish, polish lightly with a jewelry cloth.
  • For extra protection, select our lacquer option at checkout to reduce tarnish and minimize skin reactions.

Each piece is handcrafted with raw crystals and natural metals—organic changes over time add to its one-of-a-kind beauty.

Copper Protection

Embrace the Patina

Some collectors love the rich, aged look that copper develops over time. This natural patina tells a story—of adventures taken, energies absorbed, and the passage of time. If you resonate with that earthy, vintage look, feel free to let your copper evolve organically.

Why add lacquer?

  • Slows the natural darkening (patina) of copper
  • Minimizes the chance of skin reactions
  • Keeps copper looking brighter for longer
  • Protects while preserving the earthy character of your jewelry
