Blue Sapphire Ring — Handcrafted Copper Jewelry
The cool weight of copper against your skin. Deep blue sapphire catching the light with every movement. A handcrafted ring that feels like an artifact—earthy, timeless, and entirely yours.
This ring was born from the slow, meditative process of electroforming—watching copper grow around natural sapphire over hours in the studio. Each piece emerges with its own organic texture, like something unearthed from the forest floor. The deep blue of sapphire paired with warm copper creates a grounded aesthetic that feels ancient and timeless. Made by hand in Santa Fe, New Mexico, honoring traditional metalworking and the raw beauty of natural materials.
The Transformation
Wear this when you need grounding. When you want a tangible reminder of clarity and calm. When you're drawn to jewelry that honors the natural world without ceremony or performance. This ring becomes your quiet anchor—beautiful enough to wear every day, meaningful enough to matter.
The Details: Materials & Craft
Gemstone: 4mm round natural blue sapphire
Metal: Electroformed copper with organic texture
Finish: Natural antique copper patina with warm tonal variations
Band Width: Approximately 2–3mm
Process: Handcrafted using traditional electroforming techniques
Made: Santa Fe, New Mexico
Each ring is grown through electroforming—a slow process that deposits solid copper directly around the stone over several hours. The result is organic texture and one-of-a-kind character. No two rings are identical. Copper will naturally develop deeper patina over time, adding warmth and individuality.
Why Blue Sapphire?
Blue sapphire is associated with wisdom, inner peace, and clarity. As the September birthstone, it carries gentle meaning without mystical claims. The deep blue paired with warm copper creates a grounded, earthy aesthetic—timeless and naturally beautiful.
Wearability & Fit
Comfortable for all-day wear. The 4mm sapphire sits slightly raised with textured copper surrounding it. Perfect for wearing alone or stacking with other rings. Available in sizes 6, 6.5, and 7.5 (ready to ship).
Care Instructions
Copper naturally develops a warm patina over time, adding character and depth. To maintain the original copper shine, gently polish with a soft jewelry cloth or copper cleaner. To encourage natural patina, simply wear the ring—your body's natural oils will deepen the color. Avoid prolonged water exposure and store in a dry place when not in use. Remove during swimming, showering, or heavy physical activity. Blue sapphire is highly durable and perfect for daily wear.

About Electroforming
Electroforming is an ancient technique reimagined for modern jewelry.
Copper molecules bond to each stone over several hours, creating organic textures and secure settings. Learn more about our process.
Each ring is electroformed in pure copper, a process that uses electricity to slowly grow metal over organic forms, stone, or wax-carved bases.
This ancient-meets-modern technique creates natural textures and one-of-a-kind variations — no two pieces will ever be the same.
All rings are nickel-free, can be sealed for daily wear, and finished by hand in our Santa Fe studio.
For centuries, copper has been worn as a grounding element — believed to balance energy, support circulation, and keep the wearer anchored in presence. It reminds us of our connection to the earth and our ability to return to stillness.
How to Measure Your Ring Size at Home
Some of the easiest methods to measure your ring size at home is by using a measuring tape or a piece of string or using a ring you already own.
✨ Option 1: Use a Ring You Already Own
- Choose a ring that fits the intended finger.
- Measure the inside diameter of the ring with a ruler (in millimeters).
- Compare the measurement to a standard ring size chart (for example: 16.5 mm = US size 6).
✨ Option 2: String or Paper Strip Method
- Cut a thin strip of paper (about 5 6 mm wide) or use a piece of string.
- Wrap it snugly (but not tightly) around the base of your finger.
- Mark where it overlaps, then measure the length in millimeters.
- Match the circumference to a ring size chart.
✨ Tips for the Best Fit
- Measure your finger at the end of the day, when it’s largest.
- Avoid measuring when your hands are very cold or hot.
- If you’re between sizes, go with the larger size for comfort.
- Wider bands can feel tighter consider sizing up 1/4 1/2 size.
If you’d like, tell me how you measured (inside of a ring you already own or the string/paper method), just send me the exact measurement in millimeters, and I’ll confirm the correct size for you. Alternatively, you can look for your ring size at www.ringsizes.co

Care & Patina
Electroformed copper develops a natural patina over time — deepening into warm, earthy tones that tell the story of your wear.
To maintain brightness, polish gently with a soft cloth or a touch of lemon and salt.
To preserve the aged finish, simply wipe clean and store in a dry place.
Avoid wearing your jewelry while swimming, showering, or applying lotions, as moisture may alter the patina over time.
Copper Protection
Embrace the Patina
Some collectors love the rich, aged look that copper develops over time. This natural patina tells a story—of adventures taken, energies absorbed, and the passage of time. If you resonate with that earthy, vintage look, feel free to let your copper evolve organically.
Why add lacquer?
- Slows the natural darkening (patina) of copper
- Minimizes the chance of skin reactions
- Keeps copper looking brighter for longer
- Protects while preserving the earthy character of your jewelry
