This oval carnelian ring features a genuine 8x6mm oval carnelian cabochon in warm orange-red, its smooth polished surface glowing with the translucent warmth that makes carnelian one of the most immediately appealing stones to wear. Copper grows directly around it in your choice of bright or antique finish. A bold, energizing presence for daily wear. A ring that looks like it belongs on your hand.
Carnelian is associated with creative courage, vitality, and grounded action. A sacral and solar plexus chakra stone. Wear it when you need to feel motivated and alive.
Why Oval Carnelian
Carnelian is a naturally occurring variety of chalcedony, a microcrystalline quartz, its warm orange-red color the result of iron oxide content. Found primarily in India, Brazil, and Uruguay. One of the oldest known gemstones, used in jewelry and amulets since ancient Egypt, where it was called the setting sun and worn for courage and protection. Long associated with the sacral chakra (Svadhisthana) and solar plexus chakra (Manipura), and with creative courage, vitality, and motivated action. The 8x6mm oval cabochon is a classic, flattering form that sits beautifully on the finger. No mystical claims. Just a genuinely beautiful stone with thousands of years of human history behind it.

How This Handmade Carnelian Ring Is Made
Each oval carnelian ring is made to order in my small Santa Fe studio. I hand-select every stone for its color and translucency, then encase it in copper using traditional electroforming techniques. Copper grows directly around the stone through an electrical process, preserving the oval silhouette exactly. No mass production, no shortcuts. Every handmade ring from this studio is one of a kind.

About Electroforming
Electroforming is an ancient technique reimagined for modern jewelry.
Copper molecules bond to each stone over several hours, creating organic textures and secure settings. Learn more about our process.
Each ring is electroformed in pure copper, a process that uses electricity to slowly grow metal over organic forms, stone, or wax-carved bases.
This ancient-meets-modern technique creates natural textures and one-of-a-kind variations — no two pieces will ever be the same.
All rings are nickel-free, can be sealed for daily wear, and finished by hand in our Santa Fe studio.
For centuries, copper has been worn as a grounding element — believed to balance energy, support circulation, and keep the wearer anchored in presence. It reminds us of our connection to the earth and our ability to return to stillness.

Care & Patina
Electroformed copper develops a natural patina over time — deepening into warm, earthy tones that tell the story of your wear.
To maintain brightness, polish gently with a soft cloth or a touch of lemon and salt.
To preserve the aged finish, simply wipe clean and store in a dry place.
Avoid wearing your jewelry while swimming, showering, or applying lotions, as moisture may alter the patina over time.
Copper Protection
Embrace the Patina
Some collectors love the rich, aged look that copper develops over time. This natural patina tells a story—of adventures taken, energies absorbed, and the passage of time. If you resonate with that earthy, vintage look, feel free to let your copper evolve organically.
Why add lacquer?
- Slows the natural darkening (patina) of copper
- Minimizes the chance of skin reactions
- Keeps copper looking brighter for longer
- Protects while preserving the earthy character of your jewelry
Details:
- Optional upgrade available for $5

- Clear finish — no change to the look or feel of your piece
