This druzy quartz teardrop ring features a genuine 6x4mm druzy quartz teardrop in soft white and silver, its surface covered in a dense crust of tiny sparkling quartz crystals that catch the light from every angle. Copper grows directly around the teardrop form. A quietly dazzling presence for daily wear. A ring that looks simple from a distance and extraordinary up close.

Druzy quartz is associated with calm, clarity, and an uplifted sense of presence. A crown chakra stone. Wear it when you need to feel clear and bright.

Why Druzy Quartz

Druzy (also spelled drusy) refers to the layer of tiny crystals that forms on the surface of a host stone when mineral-rich water slowly evaporates and leaves behind a sparkling crystalline crust. In this ring, that host stone is quartz, one of the most abundant minerals on earth, its druzy surface formed over thousands of years. The result is a stone that is simultaneously raw and refined, earthy and luminous. Associated with the crown chakra (Sahasrara) and with clarity and calm. No mystical claims. Just a genuinely beautiful natural phenomenon.

How This Handmade Druzy Ring Is Made

Each druzy quartz teardrop ring is made to order in my small Santa Fe studio. I hand-select every stone for its sparkle and teardrop form, then encase it in copper using traditional electroforming techniques. Copper grows directly around the stone through an electrical process, preserving the 6x4mm teardrop silhouette exactly. No mass production, no shortcuts. Every handmade ring from this studio is one of a kind.

Sizing

Not sure of your size? How to measure your ring size at home

Select your US ring size at checkout. Sizes 5 to 9 including half sizes are listed as variants. Need a size outside that range? Select "Custom" and enter your size in the order notes. Between sizes? Size up for comfort. Need help? Email hello@blackbirdsagestudio.com and I will guide you through it.

Care

Remove before swimming, showering, or applying lotions. Store dry. Druzy quartz is durable but the tiny crystal points on the surface can be fragile, so avoid hard impacts and abrasive surfaces. Let the antique patina deepen naturally with wear, or polish gently with a soft cloth to brighten.

Gift Packaging

Every order arrives gift-ready with natural materials and a handwritten note card. Add your message in the order notes.

About Electroforming

Electroforming is an ancient technique reimagined for modern jewelry.
Copper molecules bond to each stone over several hours, creating organic textures and secure settings. Learn more about our process.

Each ring is electroformed in pure copper, a process that uses electricity to slowly grow metal over organic forms, stone, or wax-carved bases.
This ancient-meets-modern technique creates natural textures and one-of-a-kind variations — no two pieces will ever be the same.
All rings are nickel-free, can be sealed for daily wear, and finished by hand in our Santa Fe studio.

For centuries, copper has been worn as a grounding element — believed to balance energy, support circulation, and keep the wearer anchored in presence. It reminds us of our connection to the earth and our ability to return to stillness.

Care & Patina

Electroformed copper develops a natural patina over time — deepening into warm, earthy tones that tell the story of your wear.
To maintain brightness, polish gently with a soft cloth or a touch of lemon and salt.
To preserve the aged finish, simply wipe clean and store in a dry place.
Avoid wearing your jewelry while swimming, showering, or applying lotions, as moisture may alter the patina over time.

Copper Protection

Embrace the Patina

Some collectors love the rich, aged look that copper develops over time. This natural patina tells a story—of adventures taken, energies absorbed, and the passage of time. If you resonate with that earthy, vintage look, feel free to let your copper evolve organically.

Why add lacquer?

  • Slows the natural darkening (patina) of copper
  • Minimizes the chance of skin reactions
  • Keeps copper looking brighter for longer
  • Protects while preserving the earthy character of your jewelry

Details:

  • Optional upgrade available for $5

  • Clear finish — no change to the look or feel of your piece
