How This Handmade Gemstone Ring Is Made
Each strawberry quartz ring is made to order in my small Santa Fe studio. Copper grows directly around the stone through an electrical electroforming process, preserving its natural shape and character. No mass production, no shortcuts. Every ring is one of a kind.
Sizing
Select your US ring size at checkout (sizes 1–16 including half sizes available). For a custom size, select Custom and note your size in the order. Between sizes? Size up for comfort. Need help? Email hello@blackbirdsagestudio.com and I’ll guide you through it.
Care
Remove before swimming, showering, or applying lotions. Store dry. Polish with a soft cloth to maintain shine (Bright finish) or let the patina deepen naturally (Antique finish). Quartz is durable (7 Mohs), treat gently to preserve the stone setting.

About Electroforming
Electroforming is an ancient technique reimagined for modern jewelry.
Copper molecules bond to each stone over several hours, creating organic textures and secure settings. Learn more about our process.
Each piece is electroformed in pure copper, a process that uses electricity to slowly grow metal over organic forms, stone, or wax-carved bases.
This ancient-meets-modern technique creates natural textures and one-of-a-kind variations — no two pieces will ever be the same.
All pieces are nickel-free, can be sealed for daily wear, and finished by hand in our Santa Fe studio.

Copper will naturally develop a patina over time, a mark of age, energy, and individuality. To restore brightness, polish gently with a soft cloth or a simple lemon-and-salt paste. To preserve its aged character, simply wipe clean and let the color deepen with wear.
With a little mindful care, your jewelry will stay beautiful for years to come:
- Remove before showering, swimming, or sleeping.
- Store in a dry pouch or jewelry box to slow natural patina.
- Wipe metals gently with a soft jewelry cloth after each wear.
- Avoid contact with perfumes, lotions, and hair products.
- Crystals are natural and can be delicate—handle with care to avoid chips or cracks.
- Copper and brass will naturally darken over time. If you prefer a brighter finish, polish lightly with a jewelry cloth.
