Moonstone is a variety of feldspar mineral known for its adularescence, a soft billowing glow caused by light scattering between microscopic layers within the stone. Long associated with intuition, new beginnings, and emotional balance. It is chosen for its milky white color, its blue flash, and its gentle, luminous quality. No mystical claims. Just a beautiful stone with a quiet meaning that fits real life.

Stone: Natural moonstone, 8x6mm oval cabochon, milky white with blue adularescence. Each stone is unique in flash intensity and natural inclusions.
Metal: Electroformed copper. Bright (warm, polished shine) or Antique (aged patina, earthy depth).
Band Width: ~2–3mm with organic copper texture.

How This Handmade Gemstone Ring Is Made
Each moonstone ring is made to order in my small Santa Fe studio. Copper grows directly around the natural moonstone through an electrical electroforming process, forming an organic setting with texture and depth. The stone’s characteristic adularescence creates beautiful light play with every movement. No two rings are identical.
Sizing
Select your US ring size at checkout (4–15 available). The 8x6mm stone has a slightly more substantial presence than smaller stone rings. Between sizes? Size up for comfort. Need help? Email hello@blackbirdsagestudio.com and I’ll guide you through it.
Care
Remove before swimming, showering, or applying lotions. Store dry. Polish with a soft cloth to maintain shine (Bright finish) or let the patina deepen naturally (Antique finish). Moonstone is moderately delicate (6–6.5 Mohs), treat gently to avoid chipping or scratching.

Each ring is electroformed in pure copper, a process that uses electricity to slowly grow metal over organic forms, stone, or wax-carved bases.
This ancient-meets-modern technique creates natural textures and one-of-a-kind variations — no two pieces will ever be the same.
All rings are nickel-free, can be sealed for daily wear, and finished by hand in our Santa Fe studio.
For centuries, copper has been worn as a grounding element — believed to balance energy, support circulation, and keep the wearer anchored in presence. It reminds us of our connection to the earth and our ability to return to stillness.

To preserve the aged finish, simply wipe clean and store in a dry place.
