A raw black obsidian arrowhead, grown in electroformed copper and suspended from a delicate brass chain — this lariat is for the woman who moves through the world with her feet on the ground and her edges sharp. Wear it long as a statement or loop it short for a layered look. Made by hand in Santa Fe, New Mexico, each piece is one of a kind, shaped by the natural form of the stone itself.
Black obsidian is associated with protection, grounding, and clarity. A stone for cutting through illusion and returning to what is real. Wear it when you need to feel anchored.
Why Black Obsidian
Volcanic glass formed when lava cools rapidly, black obsidian is one of the oldest tool-making materials on earth. Its deep black color comes from iron and magnesium, and its conchoidal fracture creates naturally sharp edges — which is why arrowhead forms feel so right for this stone. It is associated with Scorpio and the root chakra. No mystical claims. Just a beautiful stone with a meaning that fits real life.

How This Handmade Obsidian Lariat Is Made
Each arrowhead is hand-selected for its natural form and depth of color, then electroformed in copper — a slow process where copper is grown molecule by molecule directly onto the stone surface. The result is a cap that follows every contour of the obsidian exactly. No two pieces are identical.
A Note on Stone Variation
Black obsidian is volcanic glass and each arrowhead will vary slightly in size, edge profile, and the degree of blue-black iridescence visible in different light. This natural variation is what makes each piece one of a kind.
Care
Obsidian is volcanic glass — avoid hard impacts which can chip the natural edges. Remove before swimming, bathing, or applying lotions and perfumes. Copper will develop a natural patina over time; embrace it or gently polish with a soft cloth. Store in a dry place.

Product Details
Materials & Metals
Each necklace is handcrafted from raw copper, and may include elements of brass, bronze, silver, or stainless steel, paired with carefully chosen stones, crystals, or natural elements.
Every piece is shaped by hand through the slow process of electroforming — a melding of earth, metal, and time that creates unique textures and forms.
All metals are nickel-free and sealed for comfortable, daily wear. Slight variations in color, texture, or patina are natural signs of the handmade process — each one-of-a-kind, just like its wearer.
Chain Options
Necklaces are available in a variety of lengths to fit every ritual and style:
- 16–18 inches – sits high at the collarbone
- 20–22 inches – a classic mid-chest length
- 24–30 inches – longer talisman style for layering
Chain styles may include cable, rolo, or oxidized link, chosen to complement each pendant’s design.
Leather Option
Select designs feature a soft, durable leather cord, fully adjustable from 12 to 24 inches.
Leather cords offer a grounded, natural feel and can be worn short as a choker or long for layering — making them versatile for both men’s and women’s styles.
Care & Maintenance
All metals and leather will naturally age with time and wear — it’s part of their alchemy.
To maintain brightness, polish gently with a soft cloth. To preserve patina or aged finish, simply wipe clean and store in a dry place. Avoid prolonged contact with water, lotion, or perfume.
Remove before showering or swimming. Use a soft cloth; avoid abrasive polishing on patinated copper.
Copper Protection
Embrace the Patina
Some collectors love the rich, aged look that copper develops over time. This natural patina tells a story—of adventures taken, energies absorbed, and the passage of time. If you resonate with that earthy, vintage look, feel free to let your copper evolve organically.
Why add lacquer?
- Slows the natural darkening (patina) of copper
- Minimizes the chance of skin reactions
- Keeps copper looking brighter for longer
- Protects while preserving the earthy character of your jewelry
