There is something ancient about an arrowhead. This one is raw black obsidian, volcanic glass formed in an instant of geological violence, shaped into a point and then slowly encased in copper through electroforming. The result is a pendant that feels like it has always existed. For the person who wants to carry something real.
Obsidian is associated with protection, grounding, and truth. Scorpio and Sagittarius birthstone. Wear it when you need to feel anchored and clear.
Why Obsidian
Obsidian is volcanic glass, formed when lava cools so rapidly that crystals have no time to grow. The result is a stone that is simultaneously ancient and razor-sharp, with a glassy conchoidal fracture that catches light in dramatic planes. Black obsidian has been used as a protective talisman across cultures for thousands of years. Scorpio and Sagittarius birthstone. No mystical claims. Just a beautiful stone with a meaning that fits real life.

- Chain: Single-strand antique copper rolo chain, 20 inches, lobster clasp.
- Origin: Handcrafted in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
How This Handmade Obsidian Necklace Is Made
Each pendant begins with hand-selecting a raw obsidian arrowhead for shape, surface quality, and character. The stone is then electroformed, a process where copper is slowly deposited around the stone through an electrical current, growing organically around the edges rather than being pressed or cast. The copper is then oxidized to a deep antique finish, with warm highlights on the raised areas. No two pendants are identical. One of a kind.
A Note on Stone Variation
Raw obsidian varies naturally in surface texture, fracture pattern, and the way light plays across the glassy surface. Your pendant will be similar in character to the photos but unique to your stone.
Care
Obsidian is volcanic glass, avoid hard impacts that could chip the edges. Remove before vigorous activity. Copper will develop a natural patina over time; the antique finish is intentional and will continue to evolve with wear. Store dry.

Materials & Metals
Each necklace is handcrafted from raw copper, and may include elements of brass, bronze, silver, or stainless steel, paired with carefully chosen stones, crystals, or natural elements.
Every piece is shaped by hand through the slow process of electroforming — a melding of earth, metal, and time that creates unique textures and forms.
All metals are nickel-free and sealed for comfortable, daily wear. Slight variations in color, texture, or patina are natural signs of the handmade process — each one-of-a-kind, just like its wearer.
Chain Options
Necklaces are available in a variety of lengths to fit every ritual and style:
- 16–18 inches – sits high at the collarbone
- 20–22 inches – a classic mid-chest length
- 24–30 inches – longer talisman style for layering
Chain styles may include cable, rolo, or oxidized link, chosen to complement each pendant’s design.
Leather Option
Select designs feature a soft, durable leather cord, fully adjustable from 12 to 24 inches.
Leather cords offer a grounded, natural feel and can be worn short as a choker or long for layering — making them versatile for both men’s and women’s styles.
Care & Maintenance
All metals and leather will naturally age with time and wear — it’s part of their alchemy.
To maintain brightness, polish gently with a soft cloth. To preserve patina or aged finish, simply wipe clean and store in a dry place. Avoid prolonged contact with water, lotion, or perfume.
Remove before showering or swimming. Use a soft cloth; avoid abrasive polishing on patinated copper.
Copper Protection
Embrace the Patina
Some collectors love the rich, aged look that copper develops over time. This natural patina tells a story—of adventures taken, energies absorbed, and the passage of time. If you resonate with that earthy, vintage look, feel free to let your copper evolve organically.
Why add lacquer?
- Slows the natural darkening (patina) of copper
- Minimizes the chance of skin reactions
- Keeps copper looking brighter for longer
- Protects while preserving the earthy character of your jewelry
