These charoite earrings feature an 8mm round cabochon of swirling purple and lavender charoite, each stone patterned differently, as warm copper wraps each one completely in an organic hoop form. A rare, striking pair for everyday wear or anyone drawn to stones that look like no other.

Why Charoite
Charoite is one of the rarest minerals on earth, found only along the Chara River in Siberia, Russia. Discovered in the 1940s, it is a silicate mineral known for its distinctive swirling purple and lavender patterns — caused by complex intergrowths of fibrous crystals. Long associated with transformation and calm. Chosen for its extraordinary visual character, its smooth cabochon form, and its grounding quality. Third eye and crown chakra. No mystical claims. Just a genuinely rare stone with a meaning that fits real life.
Charoite Earrings: Materials & Specifications
- Stone: Natural charoite, 8mm round cabochon, swirling purple and lavender. Each stone is unique — no two pairs are alike.
- Metal: Electroformed copper. Antique finish with living patina.
- Finding: Sterling silver ear wires. If you have a metal sensitivity, niobium ear wires are available on request.
- Dimensions: Approximately 25mm (1 inch) hoop diameter; approximately 38mm total drop per earring.
- Weight: Approximately 28g (1 oz) per pair. Lightweight for all-day wear.

How These Handmade Gemstone Earrings Are Made
Each pair of charoite earrings is made to order in my small Santa Fe studio. I hand-select and match every stone for its swirling pattern and color, then encase each one in copper using traditional electroforming techniques. Copper grows directly around the stone through an electrical process. No mass production, no shortcuts. Every handmade gemstone earring pair from this studio is one of a kind.
A Note on Stone Matching
Because charoite is a natural stone with complex patterning, each pair is matched by hand for size and color tone. Variation between the two stones is part of what makes them handmade and real — and part of what makes charoite special.
Care
Remove before swimming, showering, or applying lotions. Store dry. Polish with a soft cloth to maintain shine or let the patina deepen naturally. Charoite is a relatively soft stone (5–6 Mohs) — avoid hard impacts and store away from harder stones to prevent scratching. Sterling silver ear wires are included; if you have a metal sensitivity, niobium ear wires are available on request.

Electroforming is an ancient technique reimagined for modern jewelry.

Each crystal is electroformed in pure copper, a process that uses electricity to slowly grow metal over organic forms, stone, or wax-carved bases.
This ancient-meets-modern technique creates natural textures and one-of-a-kind variations — no two pieces will ever be the same.
All earrings are nickel-free, can be sealed for daily wear, and finished by hand in our Santa Fe studio.
For centuries, copper has been worn as a grounding element — believed to balance energy, support circulation, and keep the wearer anchored in presence. It reminds us of our connection to the earth and our ability to return to stillness.
Wearing & Comfort
The ear wires are made from hypoallergenic niobium, sterling silver or brass to ensure safe, comfortable wear for most skin types. Each earring is lightweight enough for daily use yet strong enough to withstand regular movement. Avoid tugging or sleeping in your earrings to preserve their form.
Most ear wires can be interchangable, message me if you need a different option.
