This blue kyanite necklace holds a raw blade of deep blue stone inside a double copper hoop, one ring nested within the other, the stone framed and contained. Kyanite forms in long blades, striated and layered, and there is something about the way this one sits inside the geometry of the double hoop that feels deliberate, like a thought held steady. Blue kyanite has long been associated with calm communication and clarity, the kind of stone you reach for when you need to say something true. This is a piece for the person who finds steadiness in structure, and wants to carry that feeling close.

Blue kyanite is associated with calm communication, clarity, and grounding energy. A reminder to breathe, center, and trust your voice.

Why Blue Kyanite

Blue kyanite is an aluminum silicate mineral that forms in long, blade-like crystals with a distinctive layered structure. Long associated with calm communication and mental clarity. Chosen for its deep blue striations, its raw blade formation, and its grounding quality. No mystical claims. Just a striking stone with a clear, steady meaning that fits real life.

Blue Kyanite Necklace: Materials & Specifications

  • Stone: Raw blue kyanite blade, natural and unpolished, deep blue with organic striations. Each stone is unique in shape, size, and pattern.
  • Setting: Double hoop, one copper ring nested inside the other, creating a compact geometric frame around the stone.
  • Pendant Size: Approximately 50 to 57mm (2 to 2.25 inch), varies with stone size.
  • Metal: Electroformed copper. Antique finish with rich patina.
  • Chain: Antique copper cable chain, 18 inch or 20 inch.
  • Origin: Handcrafted in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

Chain Length

18 inch: classic, versatile, great for layering. 20 inch: slightly longer drop, comfortable for everyday wear. Most customers prefer 20 inch for this size pendant.

How This Handmade Necklace Is Made

Each blue kyanite necklace is made to order in my small Santa Fe studio. I hand-select every kyanite blade for its natural beauty and unique striations, then slowly grow copper around the stone and form the double hoop setting through an electroforming process that takes days. The copper forms organically, creating texture and depth that cannot be replicated by casting. Every piece is one of a kind.

A Note on Stone Variation

Because these are natural raw kyanite blades, each stone varies in size, color depth, and striations. No two pieces are identical.

Care

Remove before swimming, showering, or applying lotions. Store dry. The copper patina will deepen naturally over time. Blue kyanite is a relatively soft stone, handle with care and avoid impacts against hard surfaces.

Gift Packaging

Every order arrives gift-ready with natural materials and a handwritten note card. Add your message in the order notes.

Materials & Metals

Each necklace is handcrafted from raw copper, and may include elements of brass, bronze, silver, or stainless steel, paired with carefully chosen stones, crystals, or natural elements.
Every piece is shaped by hand through the slow process of electroforming — a melding of earth, metal, and time that creates unique textures and forms.
All metals are nickel-free and sealed for comfortable, daily wear. Slight variations in color, texture, or patina are natural signs of the handmade process — each one-of-a-kind, just like its wearer.

Chain Options

Necklaces are available in a variety of lengths to fit every ritual and style:

  • 16–18 inches – sits high at the collarbone
  • 20–22 inches – a classic mid-chest length
  • 24–30 inches – longer talisman style for layering

Chain styles may include cablerolo, or oxidized link, chosen to complement each pendant’s design.

Leather Option

Select designs feature a soft, durable leather cord, fully adjustable from 12 to 24 inches.
Leather cords offer a grounded, natural feel and can be worn short as a choker or long for layering — making them versatile for both men’s and women’s styles.

Care & Maintenance

All metals and leather will naturally age with time and wear — it’s part of their alchemy.
To maintain brightness, polish gently with a soft cloth. To preserve patina or aged finish, simply wipe clean and store in a dry place. Avoid prolonged contact with water, lotion, or perfume.

Remove before showering or swimming. Use a soft cloth; avoid abrasive polishing on patinated copper.

Copper Protection

Embrace the Patina

Some collectors love the rich, aged look that copper develops over time. This natural patina tells a story—of adventures taken, energies absorbed, and the passage of time. If you resonate with that earthy, vintage look, feel free to let your copper evolve organically.

Why add lacquer?

  • Slows the natural darkening (patina) of copper
  • Minimizes the chance of skin reactions
  • Keeps copper looking brighter for longer
  • Protects while preserving the earthy character of your jewelry

Details:

  • Optional upgrade available for $5
  • Applied directly to your copper ring, necklace, earrings, cuff, or bracelet before shipping
  • Clear finish — no change to the look or feel of your piece
