Two raw Facet A grade citrine crystals, natural, untreated, and unheated, each one a slice of captured sunlight, suspended from handmade sterling silver ear wires and encased in the slow-grown texture of electroformed copper. Then fine silver, 99.9% pure, is applied in multiple layers over the copper form. The result is a bright, luminous finish with the organic texture of the electroformed base still fully visible beneath. The warmth of the stone against the cool clarity of silver. Both intentional. Both right.

Why Citrine
Citrine is a variety of quartz colored by trace amounts of iron, ranging from pale yellow to deep amber gold. Long associated with clarity, optimism, and abundance across cultures. November birthstone. Solar plexus chakra. The stone of forward motion and warm, focused energy.
Most citrine on the market is heat-treated amethyst, purple quartz artificially turned golden through high-temperature processing. The stones used in this studio are natural, untreated, unheated Facet A grade citrine: genuine golden quartz with its original color, clarity, and mineral integrity fully intact. That distinction matters both for quality and for honesty.

Raw Citrine Silver Plated Dangle Earrings: Materials and Specifications
- Stone: Natural raw citrine, Facet A grade, untreated and unheated. Warm golden yellow, translucent, with natural facets and inclusions. Each stone is unique in color and form.
- Metal: Electroformed copper base with 99.9% fine silver plating applied in multiple layers. Bright silver finish. The organic electroformed texture of the copper remains visible beneath.
- Finding: Handmade sterling silver ear wires, hand-formed in the Santa Fe studio. Nickel-free.

How These Silver Plated Earrings Are Made
Each pair begins with raw Facet A grade citrine selected by hand for color, form, and quality. A conductive layer is applied to the stone, then it is submerged in a copper bath where pure copper grows around the crystal layer by layer over several hours. Once the copper form is complete, fine silver is applied in multiple layers over the surface. The silver does not erase the copper. It honors it. The organic electroformed texture remains fully visible beneath the silver finish. The ear wires are formed by hand in the studio from sterling silver wire. No molds, no mass production. Every pair is one of a kind.
A Note on Stone Variation
Because these are natural raw citrine crystals, each stone varies in color depth, size, and form. No two pairs are identical. The stones you receive will be similar to those pictured, chosen with care for quality and character.
Care
Citrine is durable at 7 on the Mohs scale and suitable for everyday wear. Remove before water, swimming, and applying lotions. Store dry and away from prolonged direct sunlight, which can fade citrine's golden color over time. Polish silver with a soft cloth to maintain brightness. Silver will develop a natural patina over time; this can be gently removed with a silver polishing cloth if desired.

Wearing & Comfort
The ear wires are made from hypoallergenic niobium, sterling silver or brass to ensure safe, comfortable wear for most skin types. Each earring is lightweight enough for daily use yet strong enough to withstand regular movement. Avoid tugging or sleeping in your earrings to preserve their form.
Most ear wires can be interchangable, message me if you need a different option.
