There is something deeply grounding about a stone that has been forming inside the earth for millions of years, and this raw sapphire ring puts that directly on your hand. A genuine raw corundum sapphire, with its characteristic velvety blue-grey hue and rough natural surface, is encased in warm electroformed copper — bright or antique finish — in a setting that holds the stone the way the earth made it. For September birthdays, for clarity-seekers, for anyone who reaches for something real.
Sapphire is associated with wisdom, mental clarity, and truth. September birthstone. Linked to the throat and third eye chakras. Wear it when you need to think clearly or speak honestly.
Why Sapphire
Sapphire is a variety of corundum, the same mineral family as ruby, colored blue by traces of titanium and iron. It is one of the hardest gemstones on Earth (Mohs 9), second only to diamond, and one of the most historically significant, worn by royalty and scholars for centuries. Raw corundum sapphire retains the stone's natural hexagonal crystal form, with its textured surface and deep blue-grey color that shifts in light. September birthstone. No mystical claims. Just a genuinely beautiful stone with a meaning that fits real life.

How This Handmade Sapphire Ring Is Made
Each ring is grown through electroforming, a slow process that deposits solid copper directly around the raw sapphire through an electrical current. The result is an organic, one-of-a-kind form that no casting or stamping process can replicate. No two rings are identical.
A Note on Stone Variation
Raw corundum sapphire varies naturally in hue, from deep inky blue to blue-grey to pale cornflower. Your stone will share the character of the photos but will be its own unique piece. That variation is inherent to the material and part of what makes it worth wearing.

Care
Sapphire is extremely durable (Mohs 9) but the copper setting should be treated with care. Remove before swimming, showering, or applying lotions. Store dry. Polish with a soft cloth to maintain shine (Bright finish) or let the patina deepen naturally (Antique finish). Note: copper may cause temporary skin discoloration in some wearers — this is a natural reaction and not harmful.
Gift Packaging
Every order arrives gift-ready with natural materials and a handwritten note card. Add your message in the order notes.

About Electroforming
Electroforming is an ancient technique reimagined for modern jewelry.
Copper molecules bond to each stone over several hours, creating organic textures and secure settings. Learn more about our process.
Each ring is electroformed in pure copper, a process that uses electricity to slowly grow metal over organic forms, stone, or wax-carved bases.
This ancient-meets-modern technique creates natural textures and one-of-a-kind variations — no two pieces will ever be the same.
All rings are nickel-free, can be sealed for daily wear, and finished by hand in our Santa Fe studio.
For centuries, copper has been worn as a grounding element — believed to balance energy, support circulation, and keep the wearer anchored in presence. It reminds us of our connection to the earth and our ability to return to stillness.

Care & Patina
Electroformed copper develops a natural patina over time — deepening into warm, earthy tones that tell the story of your wear.
To maintain brightness, polish gently with a soft cloth or a touch of lemon and salt.
To preserve the aged finish, simply wipe clean and store in a dry place.
Avoid wearing your jewelry while swimming, showering, or applying lotions, as moisture may alter the patina over time.
Copper Protection
Embrace the Patina
Some collectors love the rich, aged look that copper develops over time. This natural patina tells a story—of adventures taken, energies absorbed, and the passage of time. If you resonate with that earthy, vintage look, feel free to let your copper evolve organically.
Why add lacquer?
- Slows the natural darkening (patina) of copper
- Minimizes the chance of skin reactions
- Keeps copper looking brighter for longer
- Protects while preserving the earthy character of your jewelry
Details:
