These raw turquoise hoop earrings hold the color of desert sky just before the light shifts. A single raw turquoise nugget sits at the center of a hand-hammered, wire-wrapped copper hoop, the stone electroformed in place so the copper grows around it like something natural. Turquoise is a hydrated phosphate of copper and aluminum, formed in arid regions where copper-rich groundwater interacts with rock. Its characteristic blue-green color comes from copper, while darker matrix veining reflects the host rock. Long associated with protection and calm, one of the oldest stones used in adornment across cultures worldwide. Chosen for its vivid color, its raw natural form, and its grounding quality. - Stone: Natural raw turquoise nugget, approximately 10 to 15mm, blue-green with natural matrix. One stone per earring. Each stone is unique in color and veining.
- Metal: Electroformed copper around the stone; hand-hammered and wire-wrapped copper hoop. Antique finish with living patina.
- Finding: Niobium ear wires (hypoallergenic, ideal for sensitive ears).
- Dimensions: Approximately 50 to 63mm (2 to 2.5 inch) hoop diameter. Substantial but comfortable.

How These Handmade Gemstone Earrings Are Made
Each pair of raw turquoise hoop earrings is made to order in my small Santa Fe studio. I hand-select every stone for its color and natural matrix, then electroform copper directly around the turquoise nugget. The hoop is shaped and textured by hand, hammered and wire-wrapped, before the stone is set at center. No mass production, no shortcuts. Every handmade gemstone earring pair from this studio is one of a kind.
A Note on Stone Matching
Because these are natural raw stones, each pair is matched by hand for size and color. Turquoise varies naturally in tone and matrix. Slight variation between the two stones is part of what makes them handmade and real.
Care
Remove before swimming, showering, or applying lotions. Turquoise is porous and sensitive to chemicals, perfumes, and prolonged water exposure, which can alter its color permanently. Store dry. Polish copper with a soft cloth to maintain shine or let the antique patina deepen naturally.

Wearing & Comfort
The ear wires are made from hypoallergenic niobium, sterling silver or brass to ensure safe, comfortable wear for most skin types. Each earring is lightweight enough for daily use yet strong enough to withstand regular movement. Avoid tugging or sleeping in your earrings to preserve their form.
