Sunstone is a member of the feldspar mineral group. How This Handmade Sunstone Necklace Is Made

Each sunstone necklace is made to order in my small Santa Fe studio. I hand-select every raw stone for its aventurescence and depth of color, then encase it in copper using traditional electroforming techniques. Copper grows directly around the stone through an electrical process, layer by layer, until the setting is organic, solid, and entirely one of a kind. The copper is then oxidized by hand to deepen the patina and unify the tone of the pendant with the oxidized ball chain. No mass production, no shortcuts. Every handmade gemstone necklace from this studio is unique.

Chain Length Guide

18 inch: Sits at the collarbone. Clean, close, and intentional. Works beautifully alone.

24 inch: Falls just below the collarbone. The most versatile length for layering or wearing solo.

28 inch: Falls at the sternum or upper chest. A statement length, especially striking with a larger stone.

Not sure which length is right for you? 18 inch for a delicate, close-to-the-throat look. 24 inch for everyday layering. 28 inch for a bold, grounded presence.

Care

Remove before swimming, showering, or applying lotions. Store dry. The antique oxidized finish will deepen naturally over time. To maintain the patina, avoid polishing cloths designed to brighten metal. Sunstone is a 6 to 6.5 on the Mohs scale. Avoid hard impacts on the raw stone surface.
