The Electroforming Process

A raw gemstone is prepared and suspended in a copper sulfate solution. An electrical current causes copper ions to deposit onto the stone's surface, slowly building up a solid copper shell. The process takes hours. The result is a setting that is literally grown around the stone, not cast or stamped. Every surface texture, every edge, every variation in the copper is a record of that process.
