How Crystal Necklaces Are Made
Every pendant in this collection is electroformed: copper deposited through an electrical current directly onto the stone, building up a solid bail and setting in a single continuous piece. The process takes hours and cannot be rushed. The copper follows the stone's natural contours rather than forcing the stone into a standard setting, which means the finished piece looks grown rather than manufactured. The copper has a warm rose-copper tone when fresh and develops a darker patina with wear. Chains are selected to complement each pendant in length and weight.
Stones
The crystal necklace collection draws from the full range of stones we work with: labradorite, moonstone, amethyst, black tourmaline, turquoise, citrine, rose quartz, garnet, malachite, and more. Each listing specifies the stone, its size and form, and the chain length. Stones are selected for quality of color, clarity of form, and structural integrity before they enter the making process. A stone that does not meet the standard does not become a piece.
Pendant Styles
Pendants in this collection range from small and delicate, a single polished stone on a fine chain, to large statement pieces built around raw crystal points or clusters. Some are made to order in your choice of stone. Others are ready to ship as finished one-of-a-kind pieces. Each listing specifies which applies and includes the chain length and clasp type.
Layering
Crystal necklaces layer well when the chain lengths are varied by at least two inches between pieces. A short choker-length piece at 16 inches, a mid-length piece at 18 to 20 inches, and a longer pendant at 24 inches creates a layered look without tangling. Care
Remove before water, swimming, dishes, and lotions. Store dry and separate from other jewelry to prevent scratching. Copper develops a natural patina over time. Stone-specific care notes are included in each individual listing.
