Obsidian

Volcanic glass formed when lava cools rapidly. One of the oldest tools used by humans — for cutting, for mirrors, for protection. Black, glassy, and completely non-porous. Associated with truth, protection, and the release of what no longer serves. Raw obsidian has sharp edges and a deep, reflective surface. Avoid hard impacts.

Smoky Quartz

Quartz that has been naturally irradiated over millions of years, turning it from clear to brown or grey-black. Found in granite formations worldwide. Associated with grounding, calm, and the transmutation of negative energy. One of the most wearable of the darker stones — subtle enough for everyday use, present enough to feel.

Black Tourmaline

A boron silicate mineral that forms in long striated rods. One of the most widely used protective stones across traditions. Associated with energetic boundaries, grounding, and protection from external stress. Relatively durable, though the rod ends can be vulnerable to chipping on raw specimens.

Hematite

Iron oxide, the same mineral that gives red clay its color. Heavy, metallic, and deeply grounding. Associated with strength, focus, and physical vitality. The weight of hematite is noticeable — it is one of the densest stones used in jewelry.

Bronzite

A member of the pyroxene family with a warm bronze metallic sheen caused by iron content. Associated with grounding, self-confidence, and decisive action. Less common than the other stones in this collection and worth seeking out for its distinctive warm luster.

Materials and Care

All pieces are set in electroformed copper or wire-wrapped brass, handcrafted in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Remove before water and chemicals. Store dry. Copper develops a natural patina over time.
